Palmer Park

Palmer Park is a neighborhood in which retirees are moving out to make way for young families.  It is just south of Palmer Park, the original "open space" park founded by General Palmer when he founded the city in the mid 1800s.  There is a charter school (former Longfellow Elementary) and magnet and private schools (former Irving Junior High and former Wasson High) in the area.  Most of the homes were built in the 1960s and 1970s.  Dorothy Stout built many durable, long-lasting homes in this area.   Two assisted living facilities in this area are Winslow Court and Sunny Vista.  This subdivision is south of Maizeland Road between Academy and Circle Drive.
